Our love story can only be described as fated.

Mossimo and Brittany were both undergrads at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, California, but didn't meet until halfway through their senior year. Mossimo likes to say that they met in Japan, which they sort of did. They met on an undergrad trip through the business school to Japan and Taiwan in December 2017.

After the trip, they had no contact with one another until nearly six months later when Brittany saw Mossimo walking with another person from the trip, and she asked them if they wanted to sign up for the etiquette dinner she was planning for the business school. They both declined the invitation (though Mossimo admittedly could've used the tips at the time lol). A couple of weeks later the group of students from the trip went out to a local sushi restaurant for saki bombing as a reunion and celebration for those graduating. After, Mossimo invited Brittany to his apartment to sober up where they watched an episode of Entourage together and then went their separate ways.

About a week later, they briefly ran into each other while in downtown SLO during the 5am bar hopping tradition on graduation day, which is when Brittany technically met Mossimo's parents for the first time, even if it was only for a split second. Little did Brittany and Mossimo know, they were both invited to the President's Brunch right before the graduation ceremony that same day, and ran into each other again. It was like fate was pushing them towards each other. It was at the President's Brunch that Mossimo met Brittany's parents for the first time and told them he was going to be a lawyer (through hard work and perseverance he achieved that goal!).

The students that were at the President's Brunch walked to the ceremony together. Unbeknownst to Brittany, Mossimo had coordinated ahead of time for all his friends to sit together during graduation. So, Mossimo's friends were calling and texting him asking where he was so he could meet up with them, but for some reason he ignored his friends' messages and sat right next to Brittany.

Halfway through walking down the aisle after walking across the stage, Mossimo ran up and put his arm around Brittany (maybe he was practicing walking down a different aisle together someday...that someday is almost here!). Years later, Brittany's parents admit that they felt that there was something between her and Mossimo when they met him at the brunch, but there really wasn't anything between them at that point, at least nothing that either of them consciously knew. Her parents picked up on something that they didn't even know themselves yet - Brittany and Mossimo are destined to be together.

They went their separate ways after graduation, again having no communication for a couple of months. While in Portugal and Spain that summer, Brittany posted photos on Snapchat throughout the trip. After she was back in California in August 2018, during a drive to Pismo with her family, Mossimo slid into Brittany's Snapchat DMs saying he'd like to hear about her summer travels and would have his "secretary reach out". A week went by before Mossimo texted Brittany. He said that he was sorry for the delay, he needed to fire his secretary, and he wanted to show Brittany "around his town".

On their first date, which Brittany wasn't even sure was a date, they ended up spending seven hours together exploring San Francisco. As Brittany was leaving, she decided to hold on to Mossimo's Ray-Ban sunglasses he let her borrow, saying that she'd give them back to him another time. She eventually did give the sunglasses back...and about that secretary? Mossimo still hasn't hired a new one, so Brittany has filled that role. Brittany has helped Mossimo be more organized and forward-thinking while Mossimo has helped Brittany be more comfortable with spontaneity and slow down to enjoy the present instead of over-indexing on the future.

Brittany and Mossimo's first trip as a couple was in January 2019 to Monterey and Carmel during which they drove along the beautiful 17-Mile Drive stopping at all the vista points. When they stopped at #13 on the map, they climbed down the rocks to get closer to the water, and they watched the sunset there. That evening, they made a promise to go back to that spot, their "special spot", together every year as long as they live. This is a promise that they have kept for the last six years, and Mossimo proposed to Brittany in their special spot. Each time they visit, they recreate a photo they took the first time they found the spot.

Brittany and Mossimo feel incredibly lucky to have found their soulmates in each other. They push each other to be the best versions of themselves and are each others' biggest supporters. They have been each others' rocks through loss and failure and celebrated each others' growth and accomplishments. Brittany and Mossimo are so excited to build a life of their dreams together and bring their loved ones along for the journey!
